If you’re like me, you’re tired of this weird Maryland weather we’ve had this winter. A month ago, we were gripped in an ice age for what seemed like forever, and the snow from a major storm did not melt for weeks. Then last week Mother Nature gave us a taste of summer, with a few 80+ degree days, but what a tease Ms. Nature is because then we flipped back to cold.
Currently playing at the Kennedy Center through Jan. 21st, 2024, Disney’s musical Frozen, a wintry fairytale loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, is a fabulous theatrical spectacle for all ages, a celebration of love, family, and self-acceptance that is visually spellbinding (if a little light on characterization).
Based on the phenomenally successful 2013 animated Disney film, the stage version is delivered by the same artistic team,

We may not have seen any snow last winter, but fear now, with summer arriving— Frozen is here and ready to bring you all the snow you’ll ever need.
Broadway is coming back to Baltimore! The France-Merrick Center for Performing Arts’ Hippodrome Theatre is once again alive with the sounds of music and laughter and live people! The 2022/2023 season is simply spectacular, to use the vernacular! In a TheatreBloom exclusive interview, we’ve had a phone conversation with President of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center Ron Legler all about the new season and what’s exciting him the most about the nine shows— five of which are currently still on Broadway— that will be passing through Charm City starting in November of 2022.
